Michael Torra
Torra was born in Los Angeles to Cuban and Dutch parents. Raised in Southern California and the Netherlands, he attended Occidental College and Tufts University.
In college, Torra started with sculpture, playing with geometric shapes in wood and metal. He later transitioned into painting, in which he continued to use geometric form, along with color, to achieve an aesthetic balance in his works.
From 2003 to 2015, he has shown his art in the DC-area in group shows and a solo exhibit, and has produced numerous paintings on commission. He was an active MCA member from 2012 to 2015, and now lives and creates art in Oakland, California.
