Artists working in the Dupont/Logan/Shaw neighborhoods of Washington, DC are invited to join our group. A review panel of member artists reviews and recommends Visual Arts applicants twice a year (January and July). The prospective artist’s studio must be located within Mid City Artist boundaries. The artist’s studio space must be able to be open to the public for the display and sale of the artist artwork during the Mid City Artists Open Studio events.

After an initial inquiry, an Artist is asked to submit materials showing a consistent body of artwork. Artists' work should reflect an artistic vision and not solely a commercial craft. A studio visit may be determined by the review committee. The Artist will be asked to address their willingness to market the MCA group, participate in meetings and events such as the Open Studios. Depending on timing, an artist is asked to visit during Open Studios and introduce themselves to members of the review committee and other members. Once an artist is reviewed, the review committee sends their recommendations to the general membership for comments. The prospective artists will be contacted within a week of being recommended and welcomed to MCA. Once accepted, an artist will pay membership dues, be able to upload images to the MCA website and enjoy full membership privileges. Alumni Members are those artists that contributed to the success of Mid City Artists, but have moved our of the area or are unable to participate in Open Studios events.  

Galleries and Supporting Businesses in our area are also invited to join and benefit from our joint marketing effort.
